So, You’ve Stopped Working Out…

Wellness Wednesday: Fitness, lifestyle, and general health tips and news. Because we want you to be the best you.

Just when you thought this year would be different. Your schedule left you with little time to hit the gym this week, knocking you off your exercise routine. Does this lapse mean you’ve failed at achieving your health goals? Of course not. With goals come challenges that may throw you off track. Recognizing the reasons you’ve put your active lifestyle on hold is the first step to redeeming yourself. Besides lost of time, here are five more possible reasons and ways to improve:

1.   You’re doing the same workout.

Switching up the workout will not only kill boredom but also, challenge your body and thus, lead to better results.

2.    You’re not seeing results quick enough.

Know that it takes time and hard work to get results you want, whether you’re trying to lose weight or gain muscle. When accessing results, focus more on how you physically feel rather than how you look.

3.    You’re physically exhausted.

Exercise has been shown to boost energy, so if you’re feeling tired, the solution is exercise.

4.    You’ve lost motivation.

Easily solvable with one of the following exercise motivators: music, post-workout snack, exercise buddy, ideal body size and disease prevention.

5.    You set a short-term goal for yourself.

Make a life-long commitment to staying active. Your body will thank you.
